Landrey's Journey Part 6 (Open Heart Surgery 2nd Anniversary)

This was originally posted October 28, 2014.

I've never posted this pic but in a few hours, it will be October 29th.

Two years ago, Landrey had open heart surgery, coding 4 times, 6 blood transfusions, 73 day hospital stay, 4 months on oxygen, 6 months on necessary for life meds given by me around the clock, hundreds upon hundreds of breathing treatments, RSV, flu, strep infection in her bloodstream, multiple UTI, kidney infections, norovirus and countless bouts with pneumonia and bronchiolitis. I look back at a journey and think, Wow, God is real. No matter the circumstances. He IS REAL. He works when we cannot see His hand. He is there.

For Landrey, the ventilator prevented her from crying out to me, but she went through the motions. We are like this to our Heavenly Father. We can't physically talk to Him. Our pain on this earth can be physically and emotionally excruciating. Our journey too daunting for words.

But He is there, like a loving parent, fighting our battles, kissing our forehead and taking care of every moment of every day. God is omniscient. He is real. He hears you. He knows you. He loves you. He hasn't given up on you. Your circumstance isn't too great.

Landrey is proof.
